Remix Culture: This Feels Like a Parody

Remix Culture is a very interesting and unique concept that seems to be rejected and adopted constantly by the public eye. This concept is best described by the idea in which objects are personalized or changed by their respective owners.

My Idea for this piece was to have a play on words with the phrase, "Moving Mountains" Personally I have always enjoyed skateboarding and hiking in the mountains, so I wanted to combine the two.

2. Skull with eyes and hat - "Party to Death"

I used a skull to represent the danger of substances that are often used at parties, and the hat and eyes represent the concept and feeling of invincibility when in those environments.

This idea was to use a non traditional object as something incredibly common, a smoking pipe as a vase.

Here, I wanted to focus on how drivers are often distracted, hence the "Just Married". I included the brain on the outside because I wanted to focus on the consequence of unsafe or distracted driving.

Here, I wanted to contrast between traditional femininity and masculinity, and differentiate the concept of something as delicate as a high heel and as hardcore as bullets and a gun.

6. Toaster speaker with CD and charger - "Everyday Life"

With this model, I wanted to focus on how music is a part of our everyday life, just like toast is. So here is a toaster CD player.

7. Wagon pulled by jet - "Technology-based world"

I wanted to focus on how modern technology is replacing the traditional way of doing things, so a jet replaced a horse and now the horse is the being with a destination.

To be honest, this one had less of a narrative and I combined these objects because I thought they would create a very contrasting piece. I wanted it to feel random.

The concept behind this piece was anti-war propaganda, the middle finger is meant to criticize the war, while the tank ties in the idea of why war is happening in the first place. The shell is meant to represent how many past invasions during war times happened on beaches.

The main object in this piece is a YEEZY FOAM RNR. A shoe that, despite its simple and monochrome design, is very expensive, so expensive in fact they should walk for you! The elephant is there to randomize the piece.
