Assignment 1: "Objectified: Response" - PlayStation 1

For the first assignment in OBDF, I decided to model the first-generation PlayStation in Tinkercad.

My reason for choosing to recreate this product came mainly from two reasons.

Firstly, the documentary Objectified focuses mainly on influential designs and products that were revolutionary in their respective fields. The PlayStation was one of the first take-home gaming consoles of the time and was very ahead of its time on what kind of games it could actually run. It was released in 1994 by Sony, it would be one of their most successful products to date. It was designed to be very streamlined and to fit into the average consumer's home easily. You'll notice I included the small details that made this console special, like the fans on the sides, logos, and controller plug-in areas.

Second, I actually owned one of these when I was growing up, and it sits on my shelf as a decoration now. I have great memories of playing Tony Hawks Skater or Spiderman.
